Pre 1.10 Solo Method
The first time to be used as an isolated farm is found in the first courtyard. It is located when you go into DM West via the left door. Take a walk to the wall to your left and gaze North. You can search for the book by using the ability to see ( Eye of Kilrogg, Mind Vision… or purchase the Ornate Spyglass). Press the button to crouch in the ornate Ornate Spyglass to see a more incredible view. There are two benches and between three and four petrified Treants strolling about (they’re the small trees). Find little red books lying on the ground, where they walk between the bear and deer statues. One in seven will likely have a book lying there. (Note this Terrain Distance, under Video Options, is challenging to determine when using the Spyglass).
To find the book, run around the courtyard, staying clear of the guards (this requires a bit of practice, but it’s simple.) Get rid of all four Petrified Trants in some way, like fear, AE fear, pets tanking, or something similar, loot the book, and then run.

Soloing in the Lethtendris book
This method alone requires the player to have stealth. That is, having the skills of a Rogue or a Druid can be very helpful.
The route starts by taking the shorter cut route DM East. You can go straight ahead and leap onto the high edge from there. Do not drop down. Continue along the edge until you get to the spot where you leave the trees, and then enter into the Demon’s locations; you will turn right when you reach the wall, and you will see an entrance on your right. Be careful when you’ve got to this point, as there’s a Darkspawn Shadowstalker in the area, and he can observe you through your covertness. Once he’s gone, you turn right and go through the door toward the other edge of the space. There is a staircase leading up to the second level. Following that path, you’ll soon spot Lethtendris and her pet, Pimgib. The novel has a spawn location in the far left part of this floor. It’s either there, or you’ll need to reset the device and give it another chance after you’re done with nothing but empty hands or with an item of some sort, either die or get out to reset your instances. But, you are only able to be within five times every hour. So take care!
Alternate strategy
This method alone requires stealth, or having the skills of a Rogue or a Druid can help immensely.
The first place to start is the back entrance to DM East (via the pavilion north of Camp Mojache). In the first room, make sure you hug left to keep from popping the warp wood pod near the tree’s root. After you have cleared two roaming lashers, strafe left to the center line of the room. The line towards the warp wood pod ahead. The aim is to keep from popping another warp wood cylinder (to your left of the three demons) and causing angry to a Shadowstalker (to your left). After removing the two wandering lashers, you should strafe to the left and focus on the Demon, with the most visible left to the very end of the room. The objective here is to keep from popping the warp wood pods left (the one you initially targeted) or to your right (hidden in the giant roots of the trees).
Please pay attention to the lashers, and be careful not to slam them into the ground. About two steps before you bump into the Demon you’re targeting, strafe left to point at the tunnel. The tunnel will be entered. The tunnel contains a roaming elite level 56 (usually) Shadowstalker that you must kill. This should be easy for anyone with a level 60 druid or rogue. Follow the remainder of the tunnel, then turn left to enter the next demon room. Keep your eyes on the middle of the ramp and proceed in a straight line through the area. The warp wood pods are located first towards the right (between two demons, the single first and the initial lasher) and later towards the left (under the pergola). So, be sure to keep a straight line. Before the final pillar, try to turn left and walk through the wall. There’s another rogue Shadowstalker who can be seen through the ramp below the Lethtendris ramp and can be a nuisance if you are too close. Take a trip to the top of the Lethtendris ramp, and you’ll be able to see Lethtendris along with her imp. You can check the area at the platform’s edge to find the book (visible immediately after climbing the ramp). If it’s there or not, stay on the platform and go back in the direction you came from. After that, you can jump down and return the same way.
