Cave
A variety of caves can be found in the Forest that stretches through most parts of the Peninsula. Most distinctive objects and scenes related to the game’s story can be found within caves. Over time, the game’s developers have moved many essential objects (such as maps, flashlight, compass Katana, axes, etc.) into caves.
Entrances
Three cave entrances are all used for one cave (Cave HC). Some caves walk in, which require the player to squeeze between two rocks and then squeeze into tiny openings and rope-down cave entrances which resemble holes in the ground, with climbing ropes and stones surrounding the entrances leading into. Additionally, some caves are equipped with underground entrances. They usually require a Rebreather to be able to navigate. Note: It could be feasible to drop through multiple rope-down exits. Therefore players are advised to be cautious.
Threats
The caves begin to crawl with cannibals. Some contain mutants such as the Virginia, Armsy, and Cowman. Additionally, several kinds of mutant infants pose an issue in more confined caves. They are, also known as the pale cannibals, come in two major varieties: the classic pale blue male and the smaller one with a hunched body that lies between those of the traditional and thin overground cannibals. The two types can sometimes be seen with primitive weapons, the most common being the made the axe.
Cave enemies are special in that They will swiftly resettle to their original positions in case they become stuck or get lost; however they will not revive after they are killed (there are bugs in which mutants, not cannibals, could sometimes reappear). On the other hand, surface enemies reproduce infinitely with increasing frequency but can’t use climbing ropes or squeezes or shafts that are flooded. Therefore, caves that are cleared in a way can be safe havens and private escape routes for players during the game.
Cave enemies can respawn playing multiplayer, after saving, leaving or resuming the game while halfway through a cave, or in different ways.

Except lighting the arrow with a flame that, for some reason, is never lit. TIP for adjusting the game’s colours to a more light-coloured scheme like “Modern” or increasing gamma can help greatly in this.
- Certain caves come with saved points in the shape of tents made of orange that previous spelunkers left behind. Players can construct temporary shelters for leaves in the event of an emergency.
- Except for in broad daylight and touching the water in caves can cause a ” cold and wet” status.
