To generate the Cheat File for your game, start by opening the PPSSPP interface in-game. Simply press ‘Esc’ on your keyboard to access the interface, then select the Cheats option. From there, choose ‘Edit Cheat File’ to automatically generate a file for your game. You can locate this file in the memstick folder of your PPSSPP directory. It’s a straightforward process that ensures you have the necessary cheats at your disposal.
When it comes to your game, the file name won’t match the game name. Instead, it will be a unique serial number. In the screenshot above, you’ll notice the game name accompanied by “ULUS10458” at the top of the window. This information is crucial as it helps us identify both the file containing our codes and the game itself. The letters in the serial number signify the publisher and region, while the numbers represent the specific game. Understanding this system is vital for managing your game files effectively.

How to use the PPSSPP Cheat.db File & Download The Cheat.db file for PSP is a downloadable file that provides a wide array of codes for numerous PSP games. You can find a link to the complete file on my website. To utilize it, you’ll need to convert the file from .txt to .db format, which will be explained in this guide. Explore the extensive collection of PSP game codes in the Cheat.db file and learn how to convert it for usage.
To use the Cheat.db file, simply go to the Cheats folder located in the PPSSPP root directory (memstick > PSP > Cheats) and place it there. This folder is where all your cheat files are saved when auto-generated. These steps were covered in our previous guide. Make sure to follow these instructions for easy access and organization of cheats.
The Cheat.db file enables you to easily import codes into the PPSSPP emulator. Simply select the “Import from cheat.db” option during setup, as shown in the above picture. This will automatically populate the file with codes, as demonstrated in the screenshot below. These are just a few examples of the codes available in the file, which contains around 30 codes in total.
Below is a link to the cheat.db file that I have uploaded on my website. It is saved as a .txt file, and you will need to convert it to a .db file by following the provided instructions. If you find this process confusing, you can take the option to download the Cheat.db file from one of the many websites available online. However, please exercise caution and ensure that you scan the file with your Antivirus software.
Alternatively, you can use the .ini files mentioned at the bottom of my “How to Use Codes on the PPSSPP Emulator Guide” article. These files are available on each of the CWCheat pages on my website and contain the contents of the cheat.db file specific to each game, along with any additional codes that I have added.
Cheat.db and How to Use It
To begin, create a “Text Document” file in the Cheats folder of your PSP directory, naming it Cheat. This folder is where the auto-generated files are stored when you create them by selecting “Edit Cheat File” in the PPSSPP Emulator Menu.
If you have file extensions turned off, enable them to view the file’s .txt suffix. On a Windows 10 computer, you can enable File Extensions by opening any folder and accessing the upper right-hand corner (as shown below). For Mac, phone, or different versions of Windows, refer to a relevant guide on how to enable file extensions. Usually, it’s a simple toggle option that can be turned on and off easily.
To access the Cheat.db file, simply follow the link provided below. It will direct you to a .txt version of the file. Copy the entire content from the page and paste it into your Cheat.txt file. Remember to save the file. Finally, right-click on the Cheat.txt file and change the file extension to .db. Get all the information you need to proceed by visiting the link.
To achieve the desired result, follow these steps:
- Ensure your file matches the reference image, “cheat.db,” with two cogs on it. Place this file in the correct folder on your computer: ((PPSSPP root directory > memstick > PSP > Cheats)).
- While in a game, select “Import from cheat.db” to automatically download all available cheats. This process is made easy by having the cheat file in the designated folder.
In most cases, the Cheat.db file contains all the available codes for a game. However, you may occasionally find additional codes on my website that are not included in the Cheat.db file. Enjoy enhancing your gaming experience!
