Those who have spent much of their lives watching their favourite YouTubers will understand how lucrative the job can be once a good following has been established on the platform. The amount of money that YouTube superstars like PewDiePie make does not bear thinking about, but it is certainly something to aspire to as for many, making videos for a living is simply a dream job. However, it is not easy to get to this point and those that are wanting to one day make their dream a reality must be armed with the right information if they hope to breakthrough in a platform that has already been saturated with channels of all niches.
It is a fact that blowing up on YouTube now is harder than it has ever been. But this is a fact for every platform in the present day. Compared to 2008, it will be significantly harder to get noticed on YouTube as there are many more channels to compete against. This does not mean that it cannot be done though, as many channels that started a few years ago have managed to gain millions of followers. There is no secret to be revealed, no service to be bought that facilitates this. It simply comes down to the personality of someone and their work commitment. These are the two main ingredients to making a successful YouTube channel, and if people do not have a strong showing in both, then it is not worth making one.
Those who already demonstrated aptitude in these two areas are ready to get started. But first, they should look at their equipment level. Of course, videos can be made with poor sound and video quality with the hope of upgrading later, but this is not going to attract many people who are used to watching high-quality content. By investing in good equipment straight away, those who do this instantly set themselves apart from those who do not and are likely to experience more views than those YouTubers that do not have a focus on the quality of equipment.
Next, the aspiring YouTuber must find their niche. This should be something they feel passionate about, as it is likely that they will make videos on the subject better than anyone. For example, there are many channels about gambling and how to make money by using sites like 22bet, but there are very few channels about collecting teaspoons. Focusing the channel on the latter will give it more chance of success as it is possible to become the authority on YouTube regarding the subject. Popular subjects like gaming should be avoided, but then again, this might be someone’s passion. In this case, people will need to think of a unique way of delivering their content or establish a strong personality to distinguish themselves from the sea of other channels.
The most important thing to remember after all this though is to be consistent. Regular uploads will appease a fanbase and encourage it to grow naturally. Within a few years, the possibility of YouTube becoming a full-time job might be in sight.
