Fishing is a part of every RPG today. They may be right. However, Final Fantasy 14 isn’t an RPG. That’s just another It’s an MMO. Fishing is a feature in every MMO as well. This is a double win right there. We’re sorry for saying it. They got us hooked, line and sinker, with this one.
Fortunately, the fishing in FF14 has been well-received. A few players say it’s their most favored Disciple of the Land job. It’s more active as Botany and Mining, especially in recent updates. We’ll discuss what it means and how you can maximize your fishing experience in this article, which will explain the best way to progress this class from the landlubber stage to the seasoned and sea-worthy 90.
Unlocking Fisher
Regarding Guide Format
Before we start, you can see an essential difference in how our Fisher guide for the class is organized compared to other guides. This Botany book is an excellent illustration. The guide breaks down the process by leveling stages: first joining up to 20, then 40, from 60 to 80, and eventually, to 90.
Although the initial part will be covered in this article, We’ll go in another direction, as Ocean fishing quickly becomes the most effective method to get it to the highest level. It’s technically accessible when you get your Fisher class, but we suggest waiting until 20-25 hours before taking a spin. We’ll talk about that in the future.

Becoming a Fisher
Your trip towards the ocean blue begins at Limsa, Lominsa. There, you’ll find the Fishermen’s Guild and its eclectic roster of characters. To join this guild, you must possess, at minimum, the Disciple of War or Magic class at a level of at or above ten. This is it, but with the caveat that, except for Marauder, Rogue, or Arcanist, you’ll need to get sufficiently far into the main story to get to Limsa Lominsa in the first place.
Prioritize Main Quests
Final Fantasy 14 offers some delightful rewards for exploring Eorzea’s corner. However, it also gives ample opportunities for staying even and straight. When you’ve reached the minimum stage for the new Fisher quest, it is recommended to prioritize it over everything else. Not just are they great for gaining experience — which is the reason for this guide! You will also get great gear for your level that can reduce the cost of gil.
We’ll guide you now through the complete set of Fisher job hunts from one to. After 70, things start to get quite different, and we’ll discuss the details separately.
These quests can be available within A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood. When Shadowbringers arrives, Fisher’s quests are shuffled into a new game called Crystarium Deliveries.
With Crystarium Deliveries, every Disciple from the Hand and Land is given numerous quests at predetermined intervals of levels, with each quest demanding that six items or items be exchanged. (Hence “deliveries.”) Most classes that aren’t combat-related are split between only four NPCs in the Crystarium. However, Fishers have the mighty young man Frithrik (pictured in the above image) entirely for themselves. What’s not to like? It’s lovely.
Crystarium Deliveries net plenty of experience points. Don’t be shocked to discover that you’re almost in your 70s. Bolster your leveling by playing the addition of Ocean Fishing or conventional grinding to reach 80 within a matter of minutes.
In the year 80, Crystarium Deliveries were replaced by Those available out of Old Sharlayan. The formula is identical but with a fresh storyline that involves an additional NPC that is, yet again, wholly committed to the fine art of fishing instead of dispersing their skills across several assignments.
Endwalker’s Studium Deliveries and their Shadowbringers ancestors will reward you around a level per quest. (If you’re not at the exact level, you’ll be able to get close. Ensure you turn in quality items to get the highest quality!)
Ocean Fishing Is The Best Leveling Path
As we’ve already established, Ocean Fishing is the most effective method to increase your level Fisher fast within Final Fantasy 14. What’s the reason this is so great? How did Fishers even exist before its introduction at Shadowbringers 5.2l? (Hint that they were leveled as of the other Disciple of the Land class, and it’s so adorably old-fashioned in retrospect.)
Players can unlock Ocean Fishing as soon as they’re Fishers. There’s no red tape and just beautiful journeys. Contact Fhilsnoe in the Fishermen’s Guild, and he’ll ensure everything is in order. Each two-hour period (real-time and, of course, but it’s not Eorzea time), the NPC called Dryskthota, located at The Limsa Lower Decks pier, invites all fishers who can walk (that’s the majority of us) to board the Endeavor and embark for an epic fishing adventure.
There are a variety of locations. Endeavor will make stops at several key spots. At each location, there are seven minutes to catch as much as possible A vendor on the boat will sell lures, for example, ones that cannot be found elsewhere. Rarely are they required, but they’re not essential however, use your judgment regarding this.
Ocean Fishing is a great game to level up because the amount of experience gained increases with the level. There’s no time to be had with this mechanic since the points gains will be evident in your display. Additionally, even though the levels one to fifty Ocean Fishing expeditions are “just” to help level up higher levels, higher ranges will award Collector’s Scrips that can be exchanged into more powerful equipment, materials, and more.
Revisiting Fishing In 6.2
Since our guide has been updated to patch 6.2 of Endwalker Now, we’ve given an update and found that Ocean Fishing is still the preferred method. But, Old Sharlayan Levequestsshouldn’t be overlooked. Since you can only do every Shadowbringers and Endwalker delivery quest once, you must add Levequests.
If and when significant adjustments are made to ensure optimal FF14 fishing levels, We’ll notify you!
The Aquarium
The aquarium feature in Final Fantasy 14 isn’t tied to leveling it to the Fisher class. If it is the case, it’s only tangential at best. However, it’s a lot of fun, and if you’re new to the game or simply taking classes in Gatherer, There’s a good chance that you’re not aware of what you’re missing.
Imagine this. You catch an animal. Then you can keep the fish. It’s in an aquarium alongside other fish, stunningly lit up in the privacy of your personal (in-game) place of residence. Frankly, it’s rad.
It’s also astonishingly accurate. It’s up to you to decide which tank to fill with Saltwater or Freshwater. As you’re likely aware, placing fishing fish in the wrong kind of water could kill their fish. This is not the goal we’re trying to accomplish here.
Aquariums are available in a variety of sizes. The sizes are Small, medium, large, and XL. The size determines the quantity of fish and their sizes in the proportion that can be housed in each aquarium. Possessing multiple aquariums to create a stunning backroom oasis for your vast array of fish is possible.
There are currently 25 small Freshwater Fish. There are also ten small Saltwater Fish and 58 medium Freshwater Fish, 24 Medium Saltwater Fish, 18 large Freshwater Fish, 24 large Saltwater Fish, 18XL Freshwater Fish, and 17 Large Saltwater Fish available in aquariums.
The Perfectionist’s Rod
Patch 6.2 has brought a new, top-of-the-line fishing Rod. Ownership will naturally permit players to increase their stats to match the most impressive new catch. The Perfectionist’s Rod is a part of the Gathering Perfectionist Set, which includes all that can be purchased at any one Purple Scrip vendor for 500 Purple Scrips. Dress up in the Perfectionist’s Gathering Set to dominate the fishing scene… at least until 6.3!
