NieR Automata: Gold-enemies How to defeat them?
On this page of the manual to NieR Automata, you will learn about the gold enemies (encountered in the final phase of the game). We will also suggest ways to defeat those gold machines that appear impervious to destruction.
Basic information on gold machines
Gold machines form among the most powerful as well as distinct enemies. First encounters with gold-based enemies are expected to occur during Chapter 7, specifically during the investigation of the Flooded City.
Gold enemies are more frequent in the latter stages of the game. They also appear in different forms, – such as tiny robots, goliaths or tanks. The opponent’s size, in this instance, doesn’t necessarily indicate how easily you can defeat them since even small gold-based machines can cause plenty of trouble.
Gold enemies can hold massive quantities of health points. Combating them using traditional methods is challenging even if you have access to powerful weapons (e.g. Pods) and even if your character is significantly higher than the amount of experience, the gold adversary has. If you decide to utilize the traditional combat techniques, consider that combating a gold machine could take as little as a few minutes.

Killing gold-coloured enemies
Eliminating the gold machine will be easy once you begin playing 9S and, more specifically, after you have advanced into Route B. This is because gold machines aren’t impervious to hacking, which is 9S’s only advantage.
Every hacking mini-game you win will trigger the explosion of the bomb and remove a portion of the gold bar on the enemy’s health. Naturally, more than one action is needed. You could repeat the hacking process approximately 4-5 times. And If you succeed, you will likely be able to win.
Rewards for the destruction of gold machines
Check the loot left by gold enemies, as it could be filled with important items of value, e.g. Machine Cores that can be sold to traders to purchase many currencies.
Eliminating gold machines could enable you to collect new items of Unit Data, i.e. codex entries on different types of enemies, including ones that are just a little different.
